(7th Grade) Over the next few weeks, our Medieval History class will be studying the fall of the Roman Empire and rise of the Byzantine Empire. Students will learn about the people and events, such as Constantine, Justinian, Alexander the Great, and the Justian Code.
We will move on to study about the religion of Islam during the Middle Ages, such as the significance behind the Five Pillars of Islam and how it shapes the importance of Islam. We will also study the Qur’an to then compare Islam to Judaism and Christianity to see the similarities and differences. Lastly, we will explore how the rise of Islamic cities and trade routes encouraged the exchange of ideas and goods, such as philosophy, medicine, art, silk, and literature.Period 5 Medieval History Syllabus

(10th Grade) Over the next few weeks, our World History class will be studying the effects of Athenian Democracy and the Roman Republic had on modern democracy and government. Students will learn about the people and events, such as Socrates, Plato, Alexander the Great, and the creation of democracy.
We will move on to study about the Glorious Revolution in Britain and the American Revolution that sparked the French Revolution. We will also study Napoleon Bonaparte and how he changed the maps of Europe.
