Magnet Coordinator

Marina's Bio

I was born in Erevan, Armenia but spent most of my life in North Hollywood. I cherish my culture and teach each student to do the same with theirs.

I am happily married to my husband of 23 years. Nver and I have three children. Gagik, who graduated from VAS as a lifer 4 years ago and got his PoliSci degree from UCSB (Thanks Dale); Susanna is in her junior year at UCD majoring in Cognitive Science; and Mikey, who went from being my baby to a Sophomore overnight!

I hold a clear multiple subject teaching credential; a Master's Degree in Education from Pepperdine and a Master's Degree in TESOL from UCSD.

I've taught a combination of Private, Charter, Adult Ed, and Public Elementary in the last 20 years. (I assure you, from personal experience, you've made the best decision for your child's education.)

I also work for CALPRO (a branch of American Institute of Research) as a facilitator. I train Adult Ed ESL teachers how to teach writing.

I am now going into my third year of being the Magnet Coordinator at Lake Balboa CPM and fulfill my duties with pride and dedication. I am here to support students, teachers, and families. Please stop by anytime, my door is always open.
